The ESL teacher is passionate about helping elders in the community become proficient in the English language. He or she will hold the primary responsibility for designing and implementing direct ESL instruction. ESL teacher will be responsible for creating a positive and structured learning environment to ensure that students are fully engaged in the curriculum. He/she will focus on strategically responding to student needs.
Bachelor's degree in related field required. Two years of professional experience in an educational setting and Massachusetts ESL Certification preferred. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, time management and computer skills are a must. Proven ability to manage a diverse classroom and be culturally sensitive to the needs of a diverse population. Has the ability to make proper judgments and demonstrate leadership qualities. Must have exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to execute plans effectively and in a timely manner.
